COLDPLAY POSTER OF T THE ROCK BAND CHRIS X RARE 24628I

You can tell summer has arrived here in France because the signs are all around us.

First up there are the obvious ones - such as the weather and the dress code. Of course the latter, especially in the nation's capital, can still turn into something of a catwalk as this year's chic hits the streets big time in what for many is the Mecca of the fashion world.

Then there are the music festivals, concerts, outdoor productions, and jumble sales held up and down the country and let's not forget the smell of a BBQ wafting in from the neighbour's garden.

Prime time television news reports begin focusing on the queues at airports and the number of passengers passing through the French capital's major railway stations, rather than hard news. And national newspapers go in for the inevitable silly season.

The inside lanes of the motorways are bumper-to-bumper full of Dutch cars, trailers and caravans, busting at the seams with provisions for a month.

In August of course, when (hopefully) summer will be in full swing a huge chunk of the country will all but close down for a month and Paris will put up shop almost completely as the French head south literally and metaphorically with "Aoutien" holidaymakers replacing "Juilletistes".

But the real clue that the whole shebang is underway has to be the reappearance on the small screen of Secret Story.

It reared its less than attractive head on Friday evening on the country's number one national channel, TF1, and is set to be in everyone's sitting rooms for the next 10 weeks.

In essence it's France's answer to Big Brother - only more downmarket. Impossible you might think, but sadly true.

Basically the idea is very simple. It starts with 15 people, strangers to each other - with the odd exception, as will become clearer later on - moving into a built-for-TV house, where they'll be under the watchful eye of the production team and the viewing public 24/7 (via the Internet of course) for two and a half months.

Each carries with them into the house a "secret" - and the idea is to keep it hidden from the others for as long as possible while trying to cajole out of fellow house mates exactly what they're trying to keep under wraps.

Off camera there is also the deep bass booming tones of The Voice (La Voix), dropping hints whenever he feels like it, setting playful if somewhat idiotic tasks with cash rewards should they be completed successfully without anyone else in the house realising.

Every week two candidates are nominated and television viewers get to vote in a 'phone poll (at premium rates of course) on who should stay in. Original stuff huh?

Yes the country which so often likes to think that it has taken the cultural highroad, brought the world classics in the fields of literature, art and music, prides itself on its language and traditions, cuisine, fine wines and haute couture - now proves once again that it can mix it with the best and worst of what the world of reality TV has to offer.

The new series, which kicked off on Friday evening will have a hard act to follow.

Last summer, when TF1 first ran the programme, the eventual winner quickly had her secret revealed .She was a triplet - and after the other house members wheedled it out of her, in tramped her two sisters.

Thus the three of them provided viewers with hours of entertainment as they played cards, ate, played cards and slept, eventually being crowned the winners because.... well because they were pretty inoffensive and bland.

Up against them was the nudist, the escort boy, the son of a famous French tennis player (Henri Leconte) a transsexual and an obnoxious couple (their secret) who bickered and manipulated their way to the final, earning their Warhol moment of fame and then (thankfully) disappearing into oblivion.

This year's dollop of dubious "culture" kicked off with the contestants tastefully arriving at the house one by one in his and hers blue and pink limos. Each woman seemingly more buxom than the last, many of them sporting micro dresses of which even pop diva Mariah Carey would have been envious.

And with a few exceptions each man was more muscled, more coiffed and more drop-dead gorgeous than the last, preening and pouting as though they were models in Milan.

Separately they tottered, strutted, swaggered or tripped their way through the jeering and cheering masses into 10-weeks-worth (for the eventual winner) of fleeting public notoriety and a stab at the chance of picking up a 150,000 cheque at the end.

Some of the contestants have had their secrets revealed to the public already - such as the lesbian couple from Belgium, the black mother and white daughter or the 30-something hunk and teenage siren who have to pretend to be "a couple". But none of the other housemates (apart from those "in" on their own coupled secrets) is any the wiser yet.

Nor do any of the contestants know exactly what secrets they have to find out, although once again viewers have been told that among the 15 there is an Anglican minister (male of female not revealed), an undertaker, a medium (who you would think might just have a head start on the others and know whether he or she would end up winning), a prince or princess and a Don Juan with apparently more than 750 "conquests" under his belt already.

So as the 15 pretenders to the title of French telly's newest reality TV hero or heroine are busy settling in to their 24/7 life together transmitted live on the Net and daily on the small screen, we can probably expect some tasteless antics similar to last year's offering - such as the rump steak shoved down the underpants of one male contestant.

There'll also doubtless be the same sort of petty rivalries, squabbles and handbags-at-dawn stuff that characterised much of the first series.

But breathe a sigh of relief because at least it's all being done in the name of entertainment. And as much as some might question why and find it "outrageous", there'll probably still be millions tuning in.

Let's also not forget there's always the "off" button on the TV set or alternative viewing on other channels.

As compulsive and trashy as Secret Story might be it'll still more than likely pull in the viewers and become its own story in itself as the nation tut-tuts and hisses in disapproval and indignation at the antics of the previous night's revelations.

Oh well. In the indomitable words of La Voix "C'est tout pour le moment."

Customer Review: Melody and Simplicity Back in Pop
Respect and objectiveness are essential in every review or comment we make, wheather we're talking about music or about our own lives. In a few words, and not being exactly crazy about Coldplay and having a truly wide music range within my preferences, I feel Coldplay are one of the new young bands that have given optimism and simplicity, melody and beauty back to pop music. And we're talking about no genius here but simply about the will to stop crying about todays depressed world and maybe about our own depression, worries or fears, but to sing about the good things in life - things about which many of us forget every day. YELLOW has childish and, to some, even meaningless words, it's true, but we can otherwise interpret the song as a simple call to realize the stars in heaven can suddenly become the icon of hope and optimism - then we say life is worth after all. If that's a crime - as some of you suggest - I do not agree. Chris Martin may not be the best of voices to emerge in british pop lately but is certainly a talented song-writer being honest and simple as he is. We are in front of four young guys playing and singing to the brighter side of life and even the bright side of not so good events in out lives. PARACHUTES is a simple collection of thoughts and sounds that take as back to an essential truth - you don't always have to suffer with music. Everything is not lost, Don't panic - statements like these seem very important to me in days like these, particularly if we care about the rest. Some or many of the Amazon customers may not and do not have to agree - but, to me, Coldplay are a talented cuartet that will probably be remembered for their honesty and their will to share their love and amuzement. I recommend YELLOW and the whole PARACHUTES album to anyone into direct and melodic pop and am very glad to hear their 2nd album is being recorded.
Customer Review: i love it!
this song is realy really good! Yellow is being played on all the radio stations!I like it because it has such a good meaning. The band Clodplay is saying what they would do for a girl that they love. I recomend this Cd for anyone.

As the company's fortunes dwindle and future prospects dim Lety comes to the rescue proving how valuable she really is - and falling in love in the process! Can Lety stand up to the beautiful catty office gossips and win not just Fernando's gratitude but his love as well? And what happens when an unexpected twist of fate turns this "ugly duckling" into a lovely swan? With the numerous and high-quality Zune MP3 downloads, there is no reason why you should not consider shifting to the Zune technology. In a period when portable music devices are very popular, there is an increased competition. That is why Zune is constantly developing different and attractive contents that would surely lure more consumers and possibly poach a significant number from arch rival iPod of Apple Inc.

Microsoft Corporation certainly would not be left out cold in the middle of the competition. It has always been a leader in every sector and technology it enters into. Thus, when it formed and instituted the Zune, its own brand of digital music playing products, many loyal followers and consumers immediately shifted gears and tried how the company cut-throats competition. Surely, Zune is cutting edge, ripping market shares from earlier and predecessor portable music players.

The rise of Zune gives way to the rapid and robust rise in demand for Zune MP3 downloads. Analysts and market observers are quick to assert that Zune is relatively and comparatively swifter in the development and introduction of new content materials.

Zune has portable music players as well as client software, making it abler to reach more and wider base of digital music consumers. If rival iPod has iTunes, Zune MP3 downloads are facilitated through Microsoft's specialized online music store Zune Marketplace. The downloads are unique and are highly attractive in that such contents can be integrated with software. When the online store was launched in November 2006, it initially offered two million songs. As of the end of 2007, the lineup surged to up to three million digital songs, and is still counting.

On top of that, Zune MP3 downloads are getting more attention with its updated versions, which also incorporates available music videos. Music downloads are legal and are provided from the titles and archives of four of the world's most gigantic and hit-making record labels, namely, Warner Music Group, Universal Music Group, EMI and Sony BMG, not to mention the smaller and local music labels around the globe.

What's more, Zune is bent on further improving its products and download lineups. In the near future, analysts are positive that the music playing technology would soon beat rivals, great and small. Zune has more advantage and a greater edge. With the advanced technology, capital advantage and technology interconnectivity provided by Microsoft and Xbox, expect that more are to come from Zune MP3 downloads.

48 Hours Ep

My parents, especially my mother was always listening to music when I was younger. So from a very young age I developed a love for all types of music: rock, folk, country, Celtic. My Mom is a big fan of 50s and 60s rock, so there was a lot of that played around the house. And while I liked most of it, some of it I couldn't stand. Yet, I find myself appreciating those songs and artists that I would never listen to when I was younger.

American Pie by Don McLean is considered one the greatest songs written. IT wasn't until I hit my late 20s that I liked this song. When I was younger, it drove me nuts. The lyrics, the melody, the change in tempo - I hated it all. I honestly don't think I had heard the full version on till I was around 28. Now, I have no idea what I found so wrong about the song. I like it today and when it comes on the radio I often find myself pausing to listen to the lyrics.

Bob Dylan and Leonard Cohen are two artists that I could never stomach. But as I learned more about music, I felt that they were both singer songwriters that I should like. People always raved about them. I just didn't get it. Neither could sing worth a dime and their lyrics were often convoluted and very dry. While I still don't think that either has the best voice, I appreciate both, even owning a Leonard Cohen cd.

I think as we get older, our musical interests can change because we start to seek something different in our music than we did when we were younger. For me, I was very much all about the beat when I was younger, preferring pop and dance artist. As I enter my mid to late teens I started branching out in my musical interests.

Now, in my mid 30s I still like a song with a good beat but I think I now know that I can appreciate an artist and their talent without being in love with them.

A Wedding Reception That You Will Treasure Forever

We often talk about wedding receptions once the receptions are over. The people at the wedding, the wedding site, the food, the drink, the music, the pleasantries exchanged, the bonhomie and the steady trickle of joy of being part of a social event reminds us later that it was the greatest wedding reception that we ever attended. Whom you danced with, did your favorite band entertain. Was the location beside a lake or on a yacht every detail is embedded in your memory. Later the memories come rushing in to make you feel mushy.

Setting the emotions aside, wedding receptions are remembered for the sheer grandeur of the arrangements made in terms of food, drink, music, the wedding site, and the ambience. No wonder people are willing to spend lavishly on wedding receptions to make it a memorable one. Wedding entertainment has an endearing importance, as the bride and the groom are interested in entertaining the guests to make the day memorable. Variety is being added to songs, dances, food and decorations. Jugglers, fire-eaters, magicians, stand up comedians and professional band have all entered the scene as a part of wedding entertainment.

Wedding entertainment mostly means music entertainment that can be live or otherwise. Wedding music bands, wedding DJs, solo wedding musicians, solo wedding singers, and wedding music ensembles all comprise the wedding entertainment schedule. Depending on the mood and atmosphere of the day, these performers can be hired to perform. While a DJ would play music as per planned, he also would ask the guests to request for songs of their choice. Music entertainment also means performance either by musicians and singers, solo or in groups. A pianist playing your favorite music while the guests enjoy the delectable food can be very soothing. If you wish, your guests to dance chose such music as Latin, Swing Band or even Rock and Roll. A Jazz or Cover band would give a more sophisticated feel. As far as live music entertainment is concerned the band selection offers choice across the spectrum that include Country, Cover, Dance, Jazz, Latin, Motown, Oldies, Reggae, Rock, Steel Drum, Swing, Top 40, and the periods like 50s, 60s, 70s, 80s and 90s band.

While live music entertainment limits the music to a particular genre once the selection is made, a DJ offers a mix of whatever you want, from any era, any musician and any song. You should make up your mind to what tune you would love your guests to enjoy and dance to, whether slow and romantic, or hip and exciting. Whether it is going to be Louis Armstrongs What a wonderful world or a Whitney Houston romantic song. The results are the guests would be left with an unforgettable wedding experience and treasure it forever.

X & Y

Customer Review: The first mild disapointment from coldplay
If Coldplay is generation Y's U2, that would mean "Rush of Blood to the Head" is its Joshua Tree. In turn that would mean that the next list of albums will turn out to be minor disapointments. It may also mean that due to Gen Y's short attention span, Coldplay will not last nearly as long, and have fewer good albums. It really is too bad, as they have taken over the artsy british rock crown from Radiohead. Now, there are two kinds of fans who will buy this album. Those who want to listen to Coldplay, and Chris Martin lovers. I myself am a coldplay lover. Don't get me wrong, Chris Martin is the perfect vocalist for this band and without his piano work Coldplay wouldn't be what it is today. But the problem with this album is the focus is drifting too much on Chris Martin and not the music. Sure, its good for business to have a sex symbol being the main focus of a band, but the art will struggle because of it. Before, in Parachutes and Rush of Blood to the Head, there was a perfect balance between Coldplay and Chris Martin, between the Music and the Man. Now that balance has completely gone askew. It shows in the slower songs that a certain pretentiousness is arising, and a naivity that is far more blatant than before. I guess the thing that really bothers me is Chris Martin singing without any music, which to me seems silly, and very self-important in contrast to a good supporting cast. 3 stars, however, is not enough. I wanted to give it 3 1/2, but 4 would have been pushing it. Some of the music has amazing flows. The drumming is solid, and the guitar distortions are exceptionally effective. The lyrics, are very hit and miss. Some of them, are simply stunning. Others are extremely naive, or even pompous. The best songs, the music flows pleasantly, and works surprisingly well. If every song followed a similar logic, this album would be stunning, but it would also be harder for singles to be released. Again, good for business, but bad for art. 1. Square One: 4/5 One of the better songs on this album, it starts off well, has some good parts, but the ending is almost spoiled by shoddy and naive lyrics. 2. What if: 3/5 Very inconsistent in terms of both instrumentals, and flow. A bad introduction, with occasional parts of brilliance. Unorganized, flawed, and naive, with promise however. 3. White Shadows: 5/5. The best song on this album, amazing use of distortions, back-up vocals, and overall instrumentation. This is another perfect balance between Coldplay and Chris. Lyrics are boarderline strong, and some of them are very well done. 4. Fix you: 2/5. Allright, i dont watch the OC. This is the worst song on the CD, and released as a single. The opening is simply cheesy, as are the lyrics. This is sadly the new direction of Coldplay, or should i say Chris Martin. Even the vocals at the beginning, the vocals are strangely poor. This song is almost completely done by chris, at least the 1st 1/2. It does finally pick up about 2 mins in, which is far too long. If you are a coldplay fan, fear this if it is the future(Think of the last several U2 albums). When the group sings together it is unnecessary and doesnt really add to this song, it just sounds cheesy. 5. Talk 3.5/5. A better song on this album, is very inconsistent. The lyrics aren't that great, and there are sections that are poorly done. But the chorus is somewhat well constructed and has instances of being enjoyable, even some of the lyrics are great, but overall mediocre. 6. X&Y 3.5/5 Another poor introduction, but this song does in fact get better. The rhythm is simple, but effective. Lyrics, again mediocre. Good guitar work, and drumming is flawless. 7. Speed of Sound: 4/5. This single released from the album is good, the only thing preventing itself from being amazing is the fact that at parts it is nearly identical to clocks. Amazing guitar distortions, and the bass gives a good heartbeat to the song. Above average lyrics, and a good balance between focus on the band and chris martin, at least relatively. I think maybe the piano, though good could have been toned down a bit. 8. A Message: 4/5. A newer version of sparks, but there is nothing wrong with that. At least the music doesnt suffer. As for chris martin this is a good use of his talents, and his band backing him up. 9. Low : 4.5/5. One of the far better songs on this CD. The lyrics are above average. The riffs are basic, but good nonetheless. Perhaps what is so good about Chris Martin is that the lines between his singing and talking are very blurred. He has a very good voice, he can raise an octave without any noticeable difference, seemingly completely calm, talk-singing, and then belt out a high pitched sound with great flow. It can also come down with equal fluidity. This song showcases it, but not at the expense of the band. 10. The Hardest Part: 3.5/5, I don't have any significant complaints, of things that havent allready been heard. It has good flow, and balance. I love the guitar about 1:20 into it. But at the same time, it is nothing special, and as far as coldplay goes, its not up with their other music. 11. Swallowed in the Sea: 4/5. Allthough it is guilty of the general complaint i had about this album, the lyrics are stunning. The sounds backing up chris' voice, create a mystical fairy tale feel to it. The band slowly comes back into it, first guitarist then bassist and drummer. The pace gets faster, which works. 12. Twisted Logic 3.5/5. Still guilty of the main complaint. But instrumentally becomes something much more. Perhaps you can see what i mean in my major complaint. With a strong instrumental, why do we need to hear Chris Martin sing by himself? Why should the spotlight solely be on him? It just seems silly. Now here him with his band, isnt it so much better? 13. Kingdom Come: 5/5. Another song i like. It is a very good ballad, lyrically it is very good, and musically very well written. Nothing spectacular, but very well put together instrumentally. It is simply effective, that is why it is so good. The album could not have closed on a better song, kind of unorthodox for coldplay but that does not matter. I know, i may get a lot of responses, and that this will be a very controversial. If you are a coldplay lover, not a chris martin lover, then listen to my review after hearing the entire CD for a while. The overall flow of the CD is marred slightly by some of its poor songs, but a good effort, not just what i expected after Rush of Blood to the head.
Customer Review: Xcellent & Y
This album is great. It's hard-hitting, lacks pretension when pretension could have been easily inserted, and has generally good songs. The only reason I am giving this album four stars is because Coldplay's sophomore studio album, "A Rush of Blood to the Head" is a classic album. It is a five-star effort, and X&Y, although good, falls short of greatness in comparison to "Rush of Blood". I wouldn't recommend this album to new Coldplay fans, but rather, to die-hards who know what to expect from the band. It's spacey, it's cool, it's another consistently good Coldplay album.

Three times in the last month Ive been asked the question, what do I need to do to organise a gig? In reality, when this question is asked it can mean several things: How do I find a venue? How do I sort out the PA? How do I get an audience? And so on.

But there is a stage before all of this: the budget. I would suggest that the moment you start thinking about organising an event you should write a budget. This budget spreadsheet informs you of most things that you will need to consider and will also show you the risk, projected profit and the breakeven point. A sample spreadshhet is available to download from this address http://www.josaka.com/features/2005/Organise-A-Gig/Event-PandL.pdf

If the budget numbers dont look like they are working perhaps the event is not the right thing to be running. If you dont like the level of risk, perhaps you arent cut out to be a promoter.

So the start point is a spreadsheet. This should include all costs and all incomes. The key headings for costs should include: performer cost, PA, lighting, venue hire, marketing, box office costs etc. The income is likely to be largely ticket sales but dont forget the opportunity to add a sponsor to the event.

The spreadsheet will help you work out the breakeven point for the event i.e. how many tickets you need to sell to cover all costs. Every sale beyond breakeven is of course profit (exluding any box office commision). The added bonus of creating an event spreadsheet is that helps define all the key tasks to be performed.

The realisation of the forecasted numbers becoming actual figures suggests that all parties have got the deal they were looking for or agreed to. The sample speadsheet also illustrates that everyone else involved in the gig is largely earning a fixed fee and therefore the only person taking a financial risk is the promoter.

So if you are thinking of organising a live event I coomed you to work on the numbers first. This will help ensure you deliver a great show and have control over the money.

Love this DVD.I have 3 copies,2 in DVD, 1 in vhs. I also have all her Spanish CD's. She has such a beautiful voice.
Customer Review: I love it
I was really young when this came out, but I adored it. My father bought the soundtrack, and I watched it everytime it came on WTTW. My mom made a costume for me that was practically identical to the one Linda Ronstadt wore during "Y Andale." It made me want to learn more about my culture. I still love this concert, and now my son watches it with me.

Has "Dancing with the Stars," left your feet in a frenzy, anxiously awaiting their debut on the dance floor? As the popularity of ABC's dance floor reality show left thinking about taking the floor yourself? If so, then ballroom dancing is definitely an activity you should look into. Ballroom dancing is great for a variety of ages and is an excellent way to stay in shape while learning a fabulous art form. You will also find that ballroom dancing will socially excite you as you spend time with likeminded individuals who are just as eager to Rumba as you are. Grab a pair of dancing shoes and follow these great tips to dance your way to the stars.

  • Do your research:

Ballroom dancing is a very wide term used to refer to the many styles of dance that take place with a partner on a dance floor. There are basic dance styles that you may be familiar with, such as that Cha Cha, Salsa, and the Tango. There are also several styles of ballroom dancing that you may not be familiar with like the Bolero, the Quickstep, and the Paso Doble. Since ballroom dancing is heavily influenced by nationality, you will want to do some research to find out what style dance you would like to pursue. There are programs that offer instruction in the ballroom basics, but there are also programs that are based on the customs of different nationalities. The internet and the library will be your greatest tools when it comes to researching ballroom dancing. A simple search for the word "ballroom dancing" or "Latin Ballroom Dancing" will yield hundred of results. Read articles and watch videos to become familiar with various styles.

  • Decide What Type of Instruction to Take:

Ballroom dance is typically offered in group sessions or private lessons. It's important to decide what format you would prefer before you start calling various studios. If you're interested in ballroom dancing as a fun way to learn to dance techniques while interacting with other people, a group lesson is probably your best bet.

    Group Lessons:

    • Offer social interaction and a way to meet people.
    • Offer the chance to learn and experiment with several styles of ballroom dancing.
    • Are often less intensive lending it's self to those who are just looking to have fun.

    Private Lesson:

    • Offer the chance to hone in and work on specific dance moves or styles.
    • Allow you to choose the pace.
    • Great for couples or individuals who are looking to choreograph a dance for a wedding or other function.

  • Find Classes in Your Area:

Grab a phone book or log onto the internet yellow pages and start searching for dance lessons in your area. Keep a pen and paper handy to write down the name and number of the establishment. If you're having trouble locating classes by searching solely for ballroom dance, expand your search to include various styles of dance with the hopes that these places either offer ballroom dancing or can point you in the right direction.

Since ballroom dancing is something that can be considered and ethnic tradition you may be able to find classes that are offered in cultural centers or various places of ethnic worship. Once you have a few places on your list, start making phone calls. Be sure to write down any information they provide you with like schedules or prices.

  • Visit Studios:

If it's possible, make it a point to visit various dance studios> Visiting these places will help you decide:

    1. If you are comfortable in that dance studio.
    2. If the instructor or teacher is credible.
    3. What style dance, if any, the group focuses on.
    4. What age group, if any, is dominant in the group.
    5. The intensity level of the class fits your criteria.

  • Sign Up for a Class:

The next step in learning to ballroom dance is to sign up for a class. Once you've decided on a studio or class that works best for you, you will need to sign up. Be sure to find out when the classes close and what the starting date is. You will also want to know when the studio expects your payment and what you need in order to participate in class. For example, you may very well need to invest in ballroom dance shoes and some free flowing dance attire.

Gloria Estefan and Miami Sound Machine - Homecoming Concert

Customer Review: Homecoming Concert One More Time...
This is the concert where I fell in love with Gloria and the MSM. The music is classic and the performance brings me back to my happy teen years. I have played the video at least once/week for the last 15 years and it never fails to make me feel good. Gloria's outfits are very sexy and alot of fun to look at. From the thigh boots and tight body outfit it to the chaps wearing biker chick look she oozes Sex Appeal. Hoping some day it'll be on DVD and re-released as a Classic. Joanne
Customer Review: Excellente (y Caliente?)
This is a classic concert. And I agree that it should be released on DVD. "Words Get in the Way" performed accousticly with John and Jorge on guitars, "FANTASTIC". Or how about Gloria looking "Caliente" wearing jeans covered by some leather cowboy stuff. Next year I went to the concert in Rotterdam, but she didn't wear the outfit. Hahahha. Should have asked my money back. No, seriously. This tape is EXCELLENTE (Y CALIENTE?).

The next dance craze is bachata, a Dominican dance. Many people have been dancing it incorrectly. Since it's a very close romantic dance, most people dance it in a grinding way. It's not! You can grind during merengue, house, hip-hop and even lambada, but please don't grind during bachata!

There is big difference between gyrating and grinding. Bachata is NOT grinding! I have been trying to figure out why some women avoid dancing bachata. They think it's a freak dance. They think it's perversive. Being a bachata teacher that I am, I take offense with this notion. Any bachata teacher that teaches such false gospel should stick to house and hip-hop.

Grinding involves pelvises. And sometimes crotches. Also, back ends. Take two persons; add hormones, romantica music and lots of friction and you get the point. This dance is called "Freak Dancing," not bachata!

Yes, If you have taken my classes and workshops, I have always emphasized leading from the hips, and that, you must do when you are both close to each other. If you are a good leader, your hips along with your partner's, naturally and automatically, move in unison. If you are grinding, you are doing it wrong!

Bachata is not frottage!

On the other hand, I love the gyration of the hips because this type of movement is accepted since the beginning of dancing. It is one good expression of dancing. Some dancers perform it while dancing solo (merengue or salsa shines), or they gyrate with their partners in unison!

Now If I ever see you in the clubs again grinding to bachata, I'll slap you upside the head!

Communication plays a vital role in our society. We communicate through words and actions. Contrary to the quote that says, "Action speaks louder than words", it is still hard to know what a person is saying without hearing them talk. But, we all know that there are many languages in the world and that makes it a bit hard for us to communicate to someone who doesn't speak our native tongue. And with that, it is always nice to learn another language for us to be able to communicate well with other people.

Learning a new language isn't always easy. But, being able to master another language is something that would be really helpful. Aside from English, Hindustani and Mandarin, Spanish is the second most-spoken language in the world after Mandarin Chinese. It also has more native speakers than English language does. It is a romance language that originated in Northern Spain. So, how helpful is it to learn Spanish?

Of course, it would be totally helpful if you were into traveling. It would give you less confusion with everything, especially when you feel like striking up a conversation with some people. If your job requires you to speak Spanish like in some call centers you could earn very big money even if you're still a college student. Besides, if you know how to speak Spanish then you'll find it easier to learn other Latin-based languages like French and Italian. How great could that be?

There are different styles of learning, visual, auditory and kinesthetic. It is best to know ones strength to learn more easily. Visually, there are always movies, pictures, magazines and newspapers you can read. And on the Internet, you can listen to podcasts and well, again, the movies and a wide array of songs you can listen to. Kinesthetic learners need to do something physically. While learning a new language, try to do it while doing what you love most, like the sport you like. You can look for the Spanish names or equivalent of the English terms you use in that particular sport.

Spanish is quite easy to learn compared to the other languages. It is somewhat similar to English vocabulary since it has Latin origin. You just have to really like it. Not in the sense that you need money or it's cool because you speak it fluently. But, you should like it because it helps you grow as a person, it helps you in interacting with people, it helps you understand one's culture and most of all, you'll get to know how they learn and how they think.

If you want to speak, write, and understand Spanish using easy and creative techniques ... check out our unbiased reviews visit us at: http://www.ten-top-reviews.com/learnspanish

Freddie Hubbard has released him most recent album entitled Sky Dive.

Sky Dive will grab your attention right from the very first note with Povo and wont let go until the very last note of the very last song Naturally, which by the way is another great track.

Sky Dive has a nicely varied, mix of 6 tracks that are very well written songs by this clearly outstanding artist. Most of the songs display a lot of the kind emotion that makes for a really great listen. Clearly drawing from what I can only imagine are him own personal experiences. At different points touching on the most real emotions like love, heartbreak, pain, failed relationships and unattainable romance. Theyre all here.

Overall Sky Dive is an outstanding release. Quite possibly Freddie Hubbard's best to date. Really sensational from beginning to end. If you're even mildly into Jazz music you'll enjoy this album.

While this entire album is really very good some of my favorites are track 2 - In A Mist, track 6 - Naturally, and track 5 - Sky Dive

My Bonus Pick, and the one that got Sore [...as in "Stuck On REpeat"] is track 1 - Povo. Outstanding!

The Future is Unwritten-DVD Documentary

Julien Temple, one of the early documentarians of the London punk scene and director of the 2000 Sex Pistols film The Filth and the Fury, turns his attention now to that other seminal British band: The Clash--or more accurately, to the band's co-founder, lyricist, rhythm guitarist and lead singer, Joe Strummer. The Future is Unwritten is more than just a biography of Strummer; it is a tribute and exploration of a musician, artist and devoted humanist. Though Temple respects and admires Strummer (his influence is exalted by close friends, peers and fans like Bono and John Cusack), he doesn't romanticize this larger-than-life personality and presents Strummer honestly and not always in flattering light, though the director's fondness for his subject is constant. Most movingly, Strummer himself provides the narration via reassembled excerpts from a variety of interviews and the BBC radio show he hosted during the nineties. In the wrong hands, this could be contrived, but in this masterful documentary it serves as a testament to not just Joe Strummer the myth, but Joe Strummer the man, telling us his story in vivid detail. The Future is Unwritten is a moving and personal portrait of a musician who helped shaped not just punk, but modern music as a whole. --Kira Canny
Customer Review: Amazing movie about a rock legend
There have been several movies made about Joe Strummer but Julien Temple's is unique in its personal touch. Temple was a friend of Strummer's for many years and so had insight into the man behind the music that many people did not have. The movie consists of Joe's life story as told by many friends, acquaintances, fellow artists and others who knew him or were influenced by him over the years. Amazing music, very well put-together, and just a great story about a man who was a huge influence on rock & roll and politics during his time on this earth. Joe was taken from the world too early when he died unexpectedly in December 2002 and after watching this movie one can only wonder what more he would have accomplished. The opening scene of Joe singing "White Riot" a capella in the studio is complemented by the closing scene of Joe and Mick Jones reuniting on stage 20+ years later to perform the same song...even though they were old (and Mick a little bald!) they still ROCKED. If you like the Clash, you must see this movie!!

Everybody knows that we can download music online, but the difficult part is finding out and deciding where to download music online. This is obviously a much more convenient and much cheaper option than stepping into the music store and buying a CD. There are lots of people who have completely stopped doing that in favor of downloading.

There are so many options that it is very difficult to make a decision regarding where to download music from. There are different options no matter where you look, so it is no wonder that people get lost and confused! Besides, so many sites make so many promises that people invariably get skeptical. This wide array can be broken into three categories.

1. Peer-to-peer transfer websites

Peer-to-peer or P2P file transfer is mostly free. That is the whole basis of these programs. This is a form of file sharing. But to do this, you have to download and install certain software. There is no guarantee that the file you download will be safe or even what you wanted. Apart from that, the software can cause damage to your hard drive. So, keep in mind that when you answer the question where to download music, whether it is free or not is not the only consideration.

2. Pay-per-download websites

If the reason you want to download is that you think CDs are two expensive, this option is not for you. Sites like iTunes have huge databases and a lot of music, and you can rest assured that all the files will be safe and will play on your player with no problems. However, whether you choose to pay per download or pay a monthly subscription, eventually there will not be much difference in expenditure whether you buy the CD or download from these sites. You may also find that once your subscription ends, you cannot play these files.

3. Pay once with lifetime membership websites

These websites let you download as many songs as you like after you pay once. It counts as a lifetime membership on that site. This fee is rarely more than $50, and there will be no charges at all after that. You can do whatever you like with the songs after you download them - burn CDs, move them, anything at all.

There are more options that answer the question of from where to download music. Some websites offer a combination of pay-per-download as well as subscription, but this is not exactly the best offer financially. If you want to download often, a lifetime membership is your best bet. Plus, it is undisputedly legal.

You can fill your player with all the songs you love best, as soon as you decide which option is right for you, without overpaying or messing up your player or computer. All your options regarding where to download music from are right here - revealed and obvious!

Im far from a Kenny G fan, but another late night comin home from a ballgame , another 6 innings at 3rd base gig, tired and on an adrenaline journey I had to wait 30 minutes, parked in my Metro Atlanta driveway! why?, this song reached out over WJZC and grabbed me by the collar sayin..."Hold on mon!! dis is a gateway tune!!! find out who this is, although Kenny's distinctive soprano sax shouldve alerted me. Gateway indeed, up temp and pleasantly surprising moving me from that post game mood into a grab my babe, put on my dancin shoes, and Brasilia, here we come!!! I could care less about the criticisms, the minutia or esoterica, by other reviewers of more "refined" jazz tastes.... these songs, individually, or collectively made me feel good, perhaps its cause my babe/lady/ wife is lightly latin and these songs got me ready to move n groove... Customer Review: GREAT CD
I bought this CD for my parents who love to ballroom dance. THEY LOVED THIS CD!!!!!!

Music plays a very important role in a kid's life. From cradle to the grave our lives are effected by all kinds of music. When I hear music from the 50's, I can sing all of the words and dance the "swing" "jigger bug" and all those famous old moves. Kids are making their memories through music so they can recall their childhood when they hear a Hannah Montana song. When they are middle age and put the High School Musical in the DVD they will be able to sing every song and dance the dances. Kids love to dance and sing all of the songs--just to have good, clean fun. I believe it makes high school appealing to the Tweens because it sits the stage of fun, trust and experiences that will stay with them all of their lives. Believe it or not these productions are not just a movie being released--oh no!

Of course, there is the selling of DVD's, posters, T-shirts and all kinds of merchandise that produces well over $100 million enterprise.

I will be writing about Hannah Montana, and her dad, in another article. Their success is unbelievable. In talking with kids, their comments on the side is "I sure hope she doesn't mess up her life". Kids want a good, clean model to sing with and dance with and so far Miley Cyrus playing Hannah Montana provides this to our kids.

Let me give parents a few ideas on encouraging kids to continue to pick out good, clean, happy models.

1) When your kids dance and sing to the High School Musical or a song from Hannah Montana, get off the couch and join them--make it fun!

2) Purchase the DVD immediately and T-Shirts, etc. to let them know that you think Hannah and High School Musicial is great as well.

3) Pray these role models, that our kids have selected, do not "mess up their lives". If they do, be prepared to talk with your kids about it.

weaving dark themes through layers of melody and lyrics, sunday grey is music for the rainy day that never stops. a clever presentation that borders on the edge of jangly pop ecstacy only to plummet lyrically into the greyest of days.

There is nothing like watching salsa dancers. They are so confident, sexy and dynamic. The music makes you want to get out there and dance too. So let's go. Yes, you! You can do this! Everybody has a little Salsa in their soul.

Like its culinary namesake, the Salsa is spicy and complex in flavor, yet surprisingly easy to create. Salsa can combine elements of several different dances such as the Mambo, the Cha Cha, the Rumba, Jazz and Latin Ballroom, among others. Salsa is a free and expressive dance that is continually evolving as newer and more diverse elements are incorporated into the style. Salsa has become extremely popular all over the world. You can go to a Salsa club just about anywhere you go now. From Sydney to Shanghai, everyone is learning to Salsa.

When you first become drawn to Salsa and begin to think about taking some classes, you may be a little intimidated. Salsa dancers with years of experience can make the most complex footwork and turn patterns look effortless, but that's not how any of them started. We all start at the beginning, and the beginning is just as fun as the more advanced moves you see in competitions. You don't have to learn any of the more elaborate moves to feel right at home in a Salsa club.

In a beginning Salsa class you and your partner will learn not only some basic steps and other body positions, but how to feel the music and begin to express the music through your body. There is a basic body rhythm and some easy footwork that will become second-nature to you very quickly. Rather than being a little unsure when you go out Salsa dancing, you will be able to go out on the dance floor right away. You will be surprised to see how a few simple movements will make you fit right in at any Salsa club.

Watch the other people at the Salsa clubs when you go out dancing after you've taken a few Salsa classes. You may be really surprised to see that some of the moves that seemed complex a few weeks ago don't look quite as difficult that you once thought. That turn that looked so difficult the last time you saw it is just a modified version of the turn you learned in class. It will just take a bit of practice. You and your partner will probably be able to learn some more advanced moves just by having fun at the club.

Once you learn the basics and get more comfortable at the Salsa club, you can take some advanced classes and learn more elaborate footwork. Then you'll really be able to show off your dancing skills when you go out with your friends.

No matter whether you just take a few classes to learn the basics of Salsa or go on to advanced classes, the enjoyment you will get out of learning to Salsa is something you will have for the rest of your life.

Want to learn to dance? Wish you could move your body confidently on the dance floor? Or would you just like to have a great excuse to get out and meet people? Well for all of the above come and visit Dance Vogue where professional dancer and teacher Natalie Beck show you how to take the next step.

If you have your wedding around the corner and are worried about that first dance, Natalie has a lot of experience helping couples get confident and looking great dancing together in a short period of time. Have a look at her wedding dance lessons to get up to speed.

Customer Review: Menudo Mania!
I am so glad I found this DVD! I am a Menudo fan from way back but grew up in the Midwest. Not much Menudo merchandise was available so at this time in my life I am playing catch up. This DVD IS a must, must have for any Menudo fan. I would even suggest it to fans of Ricky Martin who discovered him after he left the group...especially those who discovered him after the Grammys. If you never had a chance to see this group in concert, buy this DVD! Seeing Ricky Martin at age 14 is like going down memory lane. Its amazing seeing the stage presence and star power he had at such a young age. It become obvious that he was a super star in the making and just the cutest thing on the planet! Its also interesting seeing Robby Rosa (now going by Draco Rosa, singer/songwriter/producer) back then. You could see that he was a talented artist in the making as well. Its also amazing to see how much he has changed since the 80's. This concert DVD is fun and it will put a smile on your face from begining to end!
Customer Review: Menudo Mania!
I always hear people go on and on and on about The Beatles, but let's face it - they were no Menudo!

La Fea Mas Bella

Lety is a sweet shy romantic girl who is very intelligent though not what you'd call "attractive." Graduating with honors in economics and having a master's degree in finance she confidently sets out to find a job never once considering her appearance to be an obstacle to success. But she soon discovers that her skills and education are not enough as she is rejected over and over for her plain looks. She finally accepts a secretarial position at a major production company run by the founder's dashing but womanizing son Fernando. That's what makes this novela one beauty of a story.Cast: Angelica Vale Jaime Camil Angelica Maria Jose Jose Elizabeth Alvarez Paty Navidad Niurka Marcos Nora Salinas Juan Soler Julissa Agustin ArenaDirector: Ruth Olegnow Sergio JimenezSystem Requirements:Run Time: 700 Mins.Format: DVD MOVIE Genre: LATIN/TELENOVELA Rating: NR UPC: 000799464328 Manufacturer No: 22292
Customer Review: La Fea Mas Bella
If I would have known that the discs did not have enough segments to make the movie realistic, I would not have bought it. Had two sides of two discs damaged or blank and many segments left out that made movie unacceptable. I would have like to see more segments of the show.
Customer Review: Good telenovela..
One of the funniest telenovelas out there. The original was way better but this is still worth watching...

Talk, Pt. 1

The First Single of a Three Part Single Set. "Talk" is One of the Stand Out Tracks on Coldplay's Multi-platinum Third Album, "x&y", Q Magazine's #1 Album of the Year 2005. The Title Track's Melody is Built from Portion of Kraftwerk's "Computer Love" and it is Coupled with Two Exclusive Songs Recorded at the Band's 2005 Appearance at the Gelredome in Arnhem, Nederlands: "Swallowed in the Sea" and "God Put a Smile on Your Face".
Customer Review: Um...
Well, I came in here to talk GOOD about Talk because it's a very solid track. However, then after clicking on the "Talk Pt. 1" cover art, I saw Swallowed By The Sea which is my second least favorite track and went, "Ugh." Finally, I saw God Put A Smile On Your Face and thought, "Meh." It was OK, but nothing great. Still better than SBTS though. So, *Sigh*, here goes: Talk --- 4 stars. Swallowed By The Sea --- 3 stars. Something about it irks at my deepest chord. God Put A Smile Upon Your Face --- 3.5 stars. Cover Art: C- (It looks sloppy, lop-sided and tacked on and tacky compared to the odd, yet appropriate U.S. album cover art.) Inside Art: ? Songwriting: C+ Vocals: C+ Vocal Emotion: B+ Vocal Acrobatics: F+ Length: A 10.5/3 = 3.5 3.5 stars. Overall: C
Customer Review: Disc 1 of a 3-disc set, also includes the 3-disc packaging
Talk, Pt. 1, an import from Holland on the Parlophone label, includes the first of three CD singles and a nice tri-fold digipak where you can put Talk, Pt. 2 and Talk, Pt. 3. As others have said, this is the first disc only. Getting the remaining discs depends largely on your desire to be a completionist, or for your interest in live tracks. The breakdown of the three discs is as follows: Part 1: (Amazon AISN B000CNGG9Y) 1. Talk (Radio Edit) 2. Swallowed in the Sea (Live in Holland) 3. God Put A Smile Upon You Face (Live in Holland) Part 2: (Amazon AISN B000CNGGA8) 1. Talk (Album Version) 2. Square One (Live in Holland) 3. Clocks (Live in Holland) Part 3: (Amazon AISN B000CNGGAI) 1. Talk (Live in Holland) 2. Til Kingdom Come (Live in Holland) 3. Fix You (Live in Holland) Part 1 only warrants a three-star rating from me because it includes the Radio Edit of Talk. But the live tracks are good. Part 2 goes up to four stars because it includes the album version of Talk, and an excellent live rendition of Square One from X&Y. Part 3 also warrants four stars for the live tracks from X&Y, great performances all. Note that these discs have WMA copy protection. If you would like to extract tracks for your MP3 player or iPod, you will need to use a Mac to do so. By the way, parts 2 and 3 come in shrinkwrapped sleeves. This is one more reason to get part 1 and the nice tri-fold digipak.

The Kentucky Derby is a pretty big deal, so much so that lots of people host their own Kentucky derby party. You can work to make your party a little original this year with some Mardi Gras flair to it. Guest will love the great food, loud music, colorful decorations and if you have the room and inclination the parade! Of course this is still a Kentucky Derby party so youll have plenty of horse and racing related decorations and you cant forget to give the guests their classic mint juleps for the party.

Make sure the guests know that the party is going to have a Mardi Gras theme to it in the invitations you send. You can pick up some invitations with a Kentucky derby or horseracing theme and punch them up a bit by adding some colorful glitter. Carefully outline the picture with a thin bead of glue and sprinkle the glitter on it. Wait for it to dry, shake off the excess glitter and send in the mail.

You can pick up some fun masks to hand out to the guests when they arrive to the Kentucky derby party. There are some fun horseracing wall hangings you can plaster to the walls and get lots of balloons in the Mardi Gras colors with an emphasis on green since it matches the grass of the racing grounds.

Take advantage of some excellent Creole recipes when thinking up appetizers for this party. Bourbon Chicken is a tasty dish that can be made for easy pick up by the guests with the addition of toothpicks. Red rice and beans is another traditional dish and its ingredients are cheap so you save a little money to get goodies for a big ole pot of jambalaya. The guests can dance to some music, share beads, eat good food and finally sit back to watch the races.

Canciones De Mi Padre: A Romatic Evening In Old Mexico

Customer Review: conciones de mi padre
Love this DVD.I have 3 copies,2 in DVD, 1 in vhs. I also have all her Spanish CD's. She has such a beautiful voice.
Customer Review: I love it
I was really young when this came out, but I adored it. My father bought the soundtrack, and I watched it everytime it came on WTTW. My mom made a costume for me that was practically identical to the one Linda Ronstadt wore during "Y Andale." It made me want to learn more about my culture. I still love this concert, and now my son watches it with me.

Using the internet to find music you like to listen to and build your music collection in any style of music is an easy and affordable way to add to your music library as you can easily burn your own CD's or download mp3's to your iPod or other music player. It is also a great way to find out about current and new artists, new album and single releases, get free lyrics and find free music downloads. The popular free iTunes software and music library allows you to create your own music library, find TV shows, podcasts and get free music downloads and for only $0.99 a song download you cannot really go wrong. Plus there are a lot of websites online where you can find free music videos and mp3 downloads like YouTube, MySpace, Rawkus, CDBaby, Soundclick and so many others.

What does this mean for the future of music? With the everyday consumer buying on average 2 new music albums a month this could have an effect on the music industry but most shops like Virgin, HMV and other well known music retail shops also have online websites which offer even more discounts and sometimes a music community so the music lovers using the internet can only boost music sales.

The internet is also a good place for independent artists without a major record label to upload and promote their music. There are a lot of independent music websites where you can create your own profile, update fans with your news and even sell your own music. The royalty companies like ASCAP, PRS, Harry Fox and BMI also have internet music licenses you can get so that you receive royalties and commissions for all music plays on internet radio stations, and for any music downloads and mp3 or CD sales.

You can even make your own music by buying and downloading music production and creation software you find online to your PC or laptop and if you have a good sound card and microphone you can make and record your own music and beats very easily. In fact, you can find hundreds of free loops and backing tracks you can download and even license for commercial use making it easy for the music producer and songwriter to make their own music.

And if you want to learn about music, study an instrument or get advice on the music industry you can do a search on the internet and find so much free and useful information in articles and on music websites and blogs.

Does this take away the traditional way of making and playing music for the musician? Some think so but you can look at it like this; the internet has opened up the whole globe to us and you can make good music contacts from all over the world and build your own worldwide fan base just by promoting your music online. Music you may never have even heard of has become easily available and the whole music scene and industry has benefited and grown because of internet and satellite communications.

You can see then that using the internet connects music lovers around the world and Cyber Technology has made it easier for the songwriter and musician to create and record their own music. Plus it opens doors for the independent music artist and also increases exposure for major record label artists so that they can build their fan base and sell more of their music.

For more information on finding music online, making your own beats, downloading free music videos, getting free lyrics, buying instruments and production software and generally about the cyber music world visit my blog Cybertunes.

Did you know you can use this article on your blogs and sites for free? Just visit the article web page and copy and paste, there's usually an HTML and text version of all my articles.
