Customer Review: Melody and Simplicity Back in Pop
Respect and objectiveness are essential in every review or comment we make, wheather we're talking about music or about our own lives. In a few words, and not being exactly crazy about Coldplay and having a truly wide music range within my preferences, I feel Coldplay are one of the new young bands that have given optimism and simplicity, melody and beauty back to pop music. And we're talking about no genius here but simply about the will to stop crying about todays depressed world and maybe about our own depression, worries or fears, but to sing about the good things in life - things about which many of us forget every day. YELLOW has childish and, to some, even meaningless words, it's true, but we can otherwise interpret the song as a simple call to realize the stars in heaven can suddenly become the icon of hope and optimism - then we say life is worth after all. If that's a crime - as some of you suggest - I do not agree. Chris Martin may not be the best of voices to emerge in british pop lately but is certainly a talented song-writer being honest and simple as he is. We are in front of four young guys playing and singing to the brighter side of life and even the bright side of not so good events in out lives. PARACHUTES is a simple collection of thoughts and sounds that take as back to an essential truth - you don't always have to suffer with music. Everything is not lost, Don't panic - statements like these seem very important to me in days like these, particularly if we care about the rest. Some or many of the Amazon customers may not and do not have to agree - but, to me, Coldplay are a talented cuartet that will probably be remembered for their honesty and their will to share their love and amuzement. I recommend YELLOW and the whole PARACHUTES album to anyone into direct and melodic pop and am very glad to hear their 2nd album is being recorded.
Customer Review: i love it!
this song is realy really good! Yellow is being played on all the radio stations!I like it because it has such a good meaning. The band Clodplay is saying what they would do for a girl that they love. I recomend this Cd for anyone.

Coldplay

First-ever packed with pictures book on this band. Text by Alex Hannaford. Pictures by Steve Gillett Collector's item.

One of the biggest trends taking the world by storm today is dog dancing also known as Canine Freestyle Dancing or the art of dancing with your dog. It is quickly becoming popular among dog owners as a form of exercise and fun but is also a highly competitive sport.

If you like to dance, take your dog with you. Instead of just taking him for a walk, you can have much more fun doing canine freestyle dancing in a controlled environment. Qualified dog training instructors will show you how to train your dog and you will incorporate the commands into your own chosen dance routine.

Freestyle is a dance that is performed to music (Heelwork to Music). A dance routine is created and the dog is taught moves that blend with those of the dogs handler. The steps for musical freestyle dancing with your dog can be easily integrated with basic dog obedience commands.

Dressage is a form of command given by slight movements of the hand and barely noticeable to the onlooker. While learning the musical dance routines, your dog can also learn basic obedience commands, as well as advanced obedience commands, while incorporating the use of dressage.

Dog owners meet once or twice weekly, usually at a canine training facility, and spend an hour or more making up moves and interacting with their dog as a form of aerobic exercise for both dog and handler. Freestyle means anything goes as far as the movements chosen to perform.

Moving across the floor, twirling around, going backwards, leg lifts, and jumps are just some of the steps used for the dance routines. For the professional the dance is carefully choreographed. The handler, and sometimes the dog, are dressed in a dance costume and perform in competition.

Brenda Steokes, owner of Canine Country Day School in Manchester, CT, dances weekly with her Australian Shepherd Luna at Tails U Win Canine Training Center, also in Manchester, CT. Aussies are not able to easily walk forward when standing on their hind legs so Brenda is working with Luna in her dance routine to strengthen the muscles needed for this move. Luna is also capable of doing a high-five with both front paws while continuously walking across the floor next to Brenda.

The art of Dog dance was sanctioned by The World Canine Freestyle Organization, founded by Pattie Ventre. Though it has been around since the 1980s, it has only recently become very popular in the form of fun and exercise rather than just a competition. Other organizations in the Unites States include the Canine Freestyle Federation and The Musical Dog Sport Association.

Anyone can join in the fun. It sure beats jumping around the living room floor to a DVD or television exercise program. Check with your local dog training facilities for information on programs in your area.

Sonic Foundry Acid 2.0 Latin

Hey,

In this article I will be basically showing you the different types of guitar. This article is based at first time beginners.

There are two types of guitars and then two different styles of those two type of guitars. So we will start with the acoustic guitar. The acoustic guitar produces noise by the sound waves echoing through the hollow body. There are two style of acoustic guitar which are:

Nylon: A Nylon means that the strings are made out of nylon. The top strings may look like they are made out of steel, but in fact they are coated (with a special type of metal that I cant remember the name of) and are made of nylon in the inside. Nylon guitars are great for the classical sound and relaxation. Since these guitars are soft stringed I highly recommend them to any beginner as they help you get the gist of playing guitar.

Steel: A steel stringed acoustic guitar have strings that are made out of steel as you would have guessed. These guitars here are generally played either strumming or finger picking and can create a relaxation sound or a catchy beat. Many artists use the acoustic guitar like Jack Johnson and Pete Murray. These guitars can be hard to play for some people as it requires you to push the strings in pretty hard on the fretboard to make a clean sound. You can get acoustic electric guitars which are still a still stringed electric but have pickups inside the hollow body.

Now we get to the electric guitar. Electric guitars make there sound by the pickups located under the strings. The sound is "picked up" with these and sends the sound through a cord to an amplifier. This then amplifies the sound which can be changed by the different knobs located usually at the top of the amp. The two types of electric guitars are:

Solid Body: Solid body guitars are steel stringed guitars. These guitars are generally used in Metal, Rock, Blues and Pop Music. These guitars are great because if you turn the distortion up, it can sometimes hide your mistakes. It is better though to practice in a clean sound so that you get used to perfecting the notes and getting a good nice clear sound.

Hollow Body: These electric guitars also have steel strings. These are basically the same as a solid body but as the name suggests they are hollow. Sometimes they are only hollow by the f notes you see on the old fashion basses, Chellos ect. These guitars are generally used in Jazz and blues category.

Now strings. Guitar strings are wonderful because they come in many different types. If you are a beginner you should start off with low gauged strings so you can develop how to play the notes clean and well. Strings should be changed regularly because the oil on your fingers and other chemicals in the air damages the strings an can make the sound of your guitar not as good (bad phrasing).

Well I hoped this helped please visit my site and view free lessons at http://wiseguitar.com

T-Shirt White " Love Latin Rap " Music

This is a great shirt. Great gift. All TopExpressions products are made under strict quality controls. 100% heavyweight cotton, weight aprox 9oz.

I don't mean to alarm anyone and I certainly don't mean to be an extremist, (Okay, the article on the destruction of mankind as we know it may have been borderline) but there is a rumor that, if true, could cause extreme havoc in the community and the release of thousands of people taking to the streets and screaming at the top of their lungs, like in a bad Japanese monster flick. I'm speaking about, of course, the return of Disco!

I know. I know. Those of us who lived through it, back in the 70's remember, all to well, the metamorphosis that took place in our culture. It was a little more than three decades ago that the onslaught of music, with the open and closed cymbal, made people dress in very bizarre fashions and forced them to go to nightclubs so they could "Shake Their Booty", because "That's The Way They Liked It" (Uh-huh, uh-huh.)

Many of you may have met your future spouses at one of these places, married them, and created your own generation of disco dudes and dudettes. The writing is on the wall, folks. What goes around, comes around and the chance that your offspring might end up in this God-awful craze, could be just a Bee Gees song away.

For those of you who were too (how can I put this delicately?) wrecked to remember anything from the last six years of that decade, here are some telltale signs to determine if a member of your brood is considering becoming trapped in that Black Hole called Disco!

Are they using terms like "funky", "get down" or "bad" when they mean good? Example: Kid - "This hot fudge sundae is bad." Parent - "It smells alright to me." Is their bedroom wall covered with K.C. and the Sunshine Band posters? Have you caught them, in front of the mirrors, practicing dance steps, which include, pointing to the floor and then swinging the arm up and pointing to the sky? Then you've got trouble, my friend, right here in River City. I say, trouble and that starts with "t" which rhymes with "d" and that stands for Disco!

It's amazing the impact those five letters had on our everyday lives; not only in music, but in fashion, too. Who will ever forget bellbottom trousers? I mean, bellbottoms that spread out so wide, Ringling Brothers could have handled a complete matinee under one pant leg and kept a third world country dry under the other one.

The fabric of the 70's was, none other than, polyester. "Poly" from the term "able to stretch like rubber" and "ester" meaning "extremely flammable." (Anyone who has ever dropped a lit cigarette on a pair of polyester pants will know they ignite faster than a Ford Pinto.)

Who will ever forget the popular leisure suit? The universal appeal to this little number was the fact that you could get married in it and, later that afternoon, Velcro a number on the back and play shortstop on a league softball team. Under the jacket would be worn a very loud and decorative shirt with wild colors, crazy patterns, and lapels wide enough to land a troop transport on them.

To cap off this lovely ensemble there was a piece of fancy footwear called the platform shoe. The purpose of these shoes were to allow people, intent on suicide, the opportunity to do it at any given time. The victim would stand on top of these shoes, while a crowd would gather below and chant, "JUMP!" Later, after they went out of style, platform shoes were used to raise houses in low-lying, flood-prone areas.

So, if you feel your children may be falling into this dreaded trap, there is help. Pick up the phone and dial 1-800-DSCO-STNKS. Operators are standing by now to talk to your child about Generation X (or Y, or whatever letter they're using this month) and play music dated no later than 1969.

Remember, help is just a phone call away.

Latin Thug - 4 Life Ash - T-Shirt

Many movies have been made about Nashville. Enough books about Music City have been written to fill a bookcase. And, of course, scores of songs are dedicated to the city of music. But, while music is the lifeblood of Nashville, visitors will also find here a city of culture and history, of haute cuisine, of pro sports, outstanding academics, natural beauty and pure Southern charm.

Nashville is a place where the past and the future peacefully coexist and build, one on the other, to create a destination that appeals to the interests of every visitor. This city is alive. You can feel its pulse when you walk down its sidewalks. And, fortunately, you can also hear it almost anywhere you go.

How Nashville became Music City:

From its very beginnings, Nashville grew from a foundation built on music. Music has always been the common thread connecting the life and soul of the city and its people. And visitors have always ventured here to experience the music that weaves such a fundamental pattern in its cultural, business and social fabric.

Nashville's earliest settlers celebrated in the late 1700s with fiddle tunes and buck dancing after safely disembarking on the shores of the Cumberland River, a spot now commemorated on First Avenue North with a replica of the original Fort Nashborough. Nashville's first "celebrity," the noted frontiersman and Congressman Davy Crockett was known far and wide for his colorful stories and fiddle playing.

As the 1800s unfolded, Nashville grew to become a national center for music publishing. The first around-the-world tour by a musical act was by the Fisk Jubilee Singers from Nashville's Fisk University. Their efforts helped fund the school's mission of educating freed slaves after the Civil War - and also put Nashville on the map as a global music center.

In 1897, a group of Confederate veterans chose Nashville as the site of a massive reunion. The event was held at the former tabernacle that would later become known as the Ryman Auditorium. So many former Confederate soldiers poured into town that a new balcony was built inside the tabernacle to accommodate their great numbers. It was dubbed "The Confederate Gallery," a designation still visible today as the Ryman continues to host an array of musical events.

Before even the Ryman became known as the downtown home of the Grand Ole Opry, it already enjoyed a national reputation. Enrico Caruso, John Phillip Sousa and the Vienna Orchestra gave roof-raising performances there that earned the Ryman the nickname "Carnegie Hall of the South." The Ryman's unrivaled acoustic qualities continue today - it has received Pollstar magazine's prestigious "Theater of the Year" award for two years in a row as the best auditorium in the nation to experience live music.

In 1925, the establishment of radio station WSM and its launch of the broadcast that would be called the Grand Ole Opry further secured Nashville's reputation as a musical center and sparked its durable nickname of Music City. The Opry, still staged live every week, is America's longest-running radio show, in continuous production for 80 years. It ignited the careers of hundreds of country stars and lit the fuse for Nashville to explode into a geographic center for touring and recording. The modern-day empire of Music Row, a collection of recording studios, record labels, entertainment offices and other music-associated businesses, populates the area around 16th and 17th Avenues South.

In recent years, cable television broadcast Music City's stars and music to the world. The Nashville Network, CMT and GAC took country music to a new level of acclaim and recognition. The gospel music series hosted by Nashville's Bobby Jones on Black Entertainment Television is now cable's longest-running program.

Nashville has also become a hub for pop, rock, bluegrass, jazz, classical, contemporary Christian, blues and soul music. Artists like Matchbox Twenty, India.Arie, Bon Jovi and Jewel, among many others, have come to Music City to write and record, and names like Michael McDonald and Donna Summer have chosen to call Nashville home.

The newly constructed Schermerhorn Symphony Center, home to the renowned, Grammy -winning Nashville Symphony, anchors the downtown end of the recently designated Music Mile, a symbolic stretch of roadway connecting the $120 million Symphony Center with the music district of Music Row, the vibrant new entertainment venues on Demonbruen Street, the Frist Center for the Visual Arts, the Country Music Hall of Fame, the Music City Walk of Fame and Museum and the Nashville Arena. The Music Mile perfectly illustrates how the music of Music City is indeed a common thread throughout the business, cultural and entertainment sectors of Nashville.

Nashville's connection to music is unequaled, and its reputation as Music City has been consistently proven for over 200 years. Welcome to the most musical city in the world. Music City-the only Music City!

Spanish schools in Argentina are very common. The reason behind it probably is that of 25 living languages in Argentina, Spanish is the most commonly spoken language with more than 350 million people speaking the language natively. It is the official language of some Latin American countries. The irony is that only Spanish speaking country outside the continents of North and South America is Spain. So, Spanish language schools in Argentina are quite many in number and people prefer learning it here too.

Learning Spanish in Argentina is always advantageous. There are many good Spanish schools in Argentina and those located in Buenos Aires the capital city have added advantages.

The capital, Buenos Aires is one of the cosmopolitan cities of Argentina. It makes the city a hub of both political, travel, cultural and entertainment connections. It goes without saying that when you are admitted in some Spanish language schools in Argentina you get an add on of spectacular scenic beauty along with the course. Spanish schools in Argentina, particularly Buenos Aires and Bariloche justify the belief. Here you will find everything from opera theatres to bars and restaurants. Happening social life outside the premises is eagerly ready to keep you occupied during the learning tenure.

Studying in Spanish language schools in Argentina is an opportunity of life time. And if you can enroll yourself in Latin Immersion School conveniently located near Buenos Aires downtown in Recoleta, there could not be anything better than that. Latin Immersion School is one of the leading Spanish schools in Argentina. It's a high profile learning institute with twelve classrooms and common places in the building. To top it they have a patio at rooftop for barbecue in summer. All the rooms have wi-fi, so you do not need to plug in your laptop or PDA phone with internet connection. Wherever you are in the premises, you stay connected.

The courses offered by Latin Immersion Spanish language schools in Argentina are designed in such a way that a fresher as well as someone who knows Spanish would get equal time to learn the language. They adopt modern techniques to impart lessons. They make groups of no more than six members so that interaction with the instructor gets easier. Standard regulation of the course assigns twenty hours a week of classes leaving enough room for self study and improvisation in home.

However, unlike many Spanish schools in Argentina, Latin Immersion School emphasizes on teaching on one to one correspondence. Keeping small groups is one of the reasons. It facilitates substantial level of individual attention. With paying extra but a nominal price, students can take advantage of extra classes in Argentina as well as Chile.

Location of Latin Immersion School is spectacular. If you are a partying sort, Recoleta has restaurants, bars and discs in premise's vicinity. If you are a quiet person and enjoy your own company, then there are parks, quiet and calm custom made for you. Lines of coffee shops, sporting events, world class theatres add a cosmopolitan touch to the persona of the students.

For usual and long weekends the nearby and faraway tourist destinations will lure you towards them. For sea lovers, there are beautiful beaches on Atlantic like Mar del Plata, some 400 kms from Buenos Aires. There are Iguazu Falls, Perito Moreno Glacier and snow capped mountain ranges.

Even few years ago Buenos Aires happened to be one among the costliest cities of the world. But with the economy crash their lifestyle has become quite reasonable. So the students of Spanish schools in Argentina now can enjoy great yet cost effective food in cosmopolitan ambience of a world class restaurant.

Buenos Aires is regarded as Latin American Paris because it boasts of Europe-like sophistication with the charm of native Latin America. Number of open air cafes, vibrant locale, happening nocturnal life with portens performing salsa and tango all night. Undoubtedly you will get all means of cosmopolitan entertainment in Buenos Aires. So other than the courses, Spanish schools in Argentina have lots more to offer.

Apart from Buenos Aires, Bariloche also has some of the great Spanish language schools in Argentina. It has a branch of Latin Immersion School too. It is their smallest school. If Buenos Aires is Paris then Bariloche is Aspen of South America. In the Andes Mountains, Bariloche is situated on lakeside. A perfect destination for ski, white water rafting, trekking and other adventurous activities add volume to the language courses offered by Latin Immersion School and other Spanish language schools in Argentina.

Latin Immersion School offers the same curriculum in all its schools in each country. So there is provision of shifting base without hampering your classes. If you prefer quieter atmosphere to pursue your Spanish classes, Bariloche is a better option for you. With a meager population of 100,000, place is serene and a perfect resort town. However, even Bariloche has not been spared of the cosmopolitan wave. Restaurants, pubs or coffee shops are increasing in number to cater locals, tourists and students coming to Spanish schools in Argentina from different parts of the globe.

There are many Spanish language schools in Argentina but the curriculum of Latin Immersion School has been planned in a way that one course week has to include overnight excursion to remote or nearby colonial countryside, tango shows, watching shows in top class theatres of the world and many more. The Latin Immersion Spanish schools never let you be overburdened with curriculum. Colorful cosmopolitan life in spectacular scenic landscape rejuvenates your exhausted spirit.

Customer Review: Rosetta Stone V3-Spanish (Latin America) Level 1,2,3
I purchased this for my college-aged daughter so that she could become proficient in Spanish. This has given her the practice she needs that the classroom (high school) did not.
Customer Review: Great Addition to School Learned Spanish
I took 17 hours of Spanish during my undergraduate degree, but could not speak Spanish. I could read Spanish, but I could not understand it when spoken. Rosetta Stone takes a different approach to teaching Spanish than my university. It has made understanding and speaking Spanish within my reach. I had a strong vocabulary base, but Rosetta Stone has helped me to be able to speak and use this vocabulary in everyday conversation. This is a great complement to any Spanish curriculum. It is a wonderful option for those who couldn't learn Spanish "the old fashion way."

I have a friend who always says that she wishes we would just bust out in random song and dance throughout the day. She believes that there would be less war, and definitely more entertainment in our everyday lives. I have to admit, I think I agree with her. Even though real life isn't all song and dance, we can pretend for limited amounts of time that it is reality. We can do this by watching musicals and Broadway shows. These offer great escapes from the sometimes dull path that we call life. But with so many of these to choose from, it may be hard to find the right one for your current mood. Here are just a few choices that you have, in detail.

Cats: This is one of the most famous Broadway productions. Even more famous then the name "Cats" is the producer, Andrew Lloyd Weber, who has produced many successful pieces. It is actually based off of T.S. Eliot's poems; you guessed it, involving cats. If you are a feline-lover, this is the perfect show for you. Just think; nothing but cats!

Wicked: I've heard lots of great things about this production. It is based off the book by Gregory Maguire called, "Wicked: The Life and Times of the Wicked Witch of the West". This is a story from the perspectives of the witches of the Land of Oz. As a viewer, you will get to see a friendship, rivalry, jealousy, and opposing viewpoints and beliefs-all with great music.

Hairspray: This is one of my personal favorites. This is set in the 1960s and is full of racial tension. This has a great message and is very entertaining. Also, the main character is not the typical "popular" girl. She becomes popular because of her personality, rather than her looks. The characters learn that the personality is more important than what is on the outside.

Phantom of the Opera: Again, another of my all-time favorites. This production is based off of Gaston Leroux's novel with the same title. This musical offers everything from love, adventure, suspense, friendship, danger, and entertainment-with, of course, the most fabulous costumes and makeup.

Rent: This is considered a rock musical. It is brazen and a little in your face-- but in a good way. This musical follows a group of young artists and musicians living in New York. Their everyday life is a struggle for survival. The many things they deal with are AIDS, poverty, love, friendship, betrayal, and sacrifice. This is definitely a heart-wrenching production-but beautifully created and presented.

These are just a few; there are so many more available to experience. The variety of shows offers something for everyone. Also, for family outings there are a few Disney productions that are great for every age group. Before you purchase your Broadway tickets, make sure that you find the right one for you and others in your group-you wouldn't want to see something inappropriate for children. This way, the Broadway musical experience can be a remarkable memory that the whole family can remember with smiles.

Customer Review: a software note
This product is sold as licensed software. Users will NOT be able to load it onto more than one computer. This aspect of the product is not clear from the blurbing on the Rosetta Stone website. It is a "single-user" product. Don't think that you can share this with friends, or that it is appropriate for a lending collection.
Customer Review: Wonderful Learning Tool
I gave this as a gift to someone with a minimal background in Spanish, but a great desire to learn. He loves it. It has inspired him to keep to the instruction modules and is now peppering all of his speech with the words and phrases he's learned.
